The Lokmat MahaMarathon 2026 was successfully organized on 22 February 2026 at the Cricket Ground, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, professional runners, fitness enthusiasts, and citizens across the city. Various race categories including 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km were conducted to promote fitness, health awareness, and an active lifestyle. The event was well managed with proper arrangements for hydration, medical support, refreshments, and volunteer assistance. Popular actress Neha Pendse attended the event for the promotion of her new movie, adding excitement among participants. Students of the MCA Department, Suryadatta Group of Institutes, actively participated as runners and volunteers by distributing water bottles, snacks, medals, and guiding participants throughout the event. The marathon concluded successfully with great energy, teamwork, and community spirit, leaving a positive message about fitness and healthy living.
Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din was enthusiastically celebrated on 27th February 2026 at the SGI Library premises under the guidance of Mrs. Trupti Lasrekar. The programme highlighted the richness and cultural heritage of the Marathi language. Dr. Ketki Bapat inaugurated the event and spoke about the literary contributions of Kusumagraj, while the honorary guest Dr. Sunil Dhangar emphasised the importance of preserving regional languages in today’s globalised world. MCA students actively participated through Marathi poem recitations, speeches, and cultural presentations, making the event vibrant and memorable. The celebration encouraged students to take pride in and promote the Marathi language.
