Dr. Shailesh Kasande is the CEO and Group Director Suryadatta Group of Institutes. He is a Professor in Marketing Management & Strategy.
Dr Shailesh Kasande has over two decades of experience in leading institutions of higher education. He was earlier the Director, Vishwakarma Institute of Management, Pune, Director, Corporate Relations at Vishwakarma Institutes, CEO at Investronaut - a business consulting firm for Start-ups, SMEs and Family Managed Businesses, Director, Corporate Relations at IMERT, Executive Director, SIMIR, Centre Manager Informatics Computer Centre.
He has setup institutes of learning within India and Abroad in collaboration with local as well as overseas academic bodies.
Dr Shailesh Kasande has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, MBA in Marketing and PhD in CRM. He also has completed the PG Diploma in Total Quality Management and Advanced Diploma in Enterprise Java Computing. He is a Sun Certified Java Professional.
Dr. Shailesh Kasande is an institution builder par excellence in the academic domain with proven competence to achieve quality and excellence in higher education. A strong believer in tech enabled processes, well defined systems, performance oriented culture and organizational values, he has sound understanding of Outcome based education, Accreditation systems and processes and the academic depth to conceptualize, structure and execute novel academic initiatives with a focus on all round development of the students through integration of industry interface, research and skill building. He is a staunch advocate of innovation and experimentation in teaching-learning processes, assessment and examination models, industry-academia interaction and capability development of the faculty. He encourages academic discourse amongst the faculty team and pushes them to achieve sustained academic excellence. He is committed to develop futuristic interventions that add value to multiple stakeholders.
Under his leadership, he transformed VIM, to the “best in class” MBA institute as a part of the Vishwakarma Group and the Institute was adjudged as the Best Professional Institute in Urban Area Category by the University of Pune (2nd overall) in 2013.
His teaching competencies include Business Strategy, Consumer Behaviour, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Marketing Communications, Marketing Management, Marketing Strategy, Operations Management, Operations Research, Quantitative Methods & Research Methodology. Dr. Shailesh trusts students’ innate abilities and facilitates learning by assimilating real life developments and challenges through consultancy and live projects and getting those insights into the classrooms.
He has technical skill sets in C, C++, Java, Advanced Java, HTML, Fortran, D Base, SQL/PLSQL, Excel, etc.

He has contributed to the entire radical overhaul of the curriculum structure and syllabus as a part of the introduction of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) at the University of Pune in AY 2012 / 2013. He contributed to the revamped curriculum of over 10 PG programmes at Faculty of Management and developed the detailed syllabus for Marketing, Production/Operations, Supply Chain Management, Technology Management, Digital Business Management. He was instrumental in conceptualizing and executing the PhD course work as per the revised framework of the UGC.
He was the Co-convenor of the CII Pune Zonal Council Industry Institute Interface (I3) Panel Member of the CII Industry Institute Interface (I3) Panel at the Western Region Council, Member of the CII Pune HR – IR Panel , Member of Organizing Committee of MCCIA SkillCon. He is a speaker at various industry forums.
He is a recognised PhD guide with the Savitribai Phule Pune University, DY Patil University and a co-guide at the Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Powai. 8 students have been awarded PhD under his guidance.
He has industry experience in the Marketing Research domain. He is a Board Member & Virtual CEO – Winstep Marketing Bureau, Director of Innovation & Investor Relations – Innobytes Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Board Member & Coach Nesspot consulting.
He is Life Member of Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), National HRD network, Higher Education Forum and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)
He has published 3 books on the subjects of Materials & Logistics Management, Research Methodology and Business Policy & Strategic Management
